Purpose

This report seeks approval of the award of contract for the
Contract Hire of 14 x 16-Seater Minibuses.
 
The Camden Accessible Travel Solutions service manages the
Council’s existing fleet of vehicles which enable services to
serve the residents of Camden. The council currently leases 14
minibuses for our Special Educational Needs school transport and
adult social care services through Dawsongroup Bus and
Coach Limited, and the hire period for these vehicles has now
expired.
 
The procurement strategy for the Short Term Vehicle
Hire and Leasing Arrangements for Camden's Accessible Travel
Solutions confirmed that after each procurement process, as
required based on the value of the proposal, a Contract Award
Report would be presented to the Commissioning and Procurement
Board prior to seeking approval from the relevant Chief
Officer.
 
A further competition has been undertaken through Lot 6 –
Minibuses, of the ESPO Framework Agreement 218_21 Specialist
Vehicle Contract Hire/Leasing.
 
Following the competitive tender process, the recommendation is
to award the contract to Dawsongroup Bus and Coach
Limited for a period of 25 Months from 19 December 2023 until 26
January 2026 for a total cost of £637,003.08.
 
The decision to award the contract will be taken by the Director
of Environment and Sustainability in line with Contract Standing
Orders.

per vehicle at a total cost of £637,003.08.
