Purpose
To consider and make a decision on officer
recommendations, following a public consultation,
on options
for the hours of control of CA-G Controlled Parking Zone
(CPZ).
Content
Consideration was given to a report of
the Director of Environment and Sustainability.
DECISION –
THAT
having considered the relevant policies and measures set out in We
Make Camden, the Camden Transport Strategy, Climate Action Plan and
Clean Air Action Plan, the results of the consultation set out in
Section 5 of the report and Consultation Report (Appendix 5), the
Equality Impact Assessment (Appendix 7), and having due regard to
the needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010, and
subject to compliance with all further statutory requirements the
Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden agrees:
i)
To make permanent the current, Experimental Traffic Order
(ETO) covering Saturday controls, between 08:30-13:30 in paid for
parking bays, permit holder bays and shared use bays in Area A
(Shown in appendix 2);
ii)
The introduction of Saturday controls, as a trial, between
08:30 – 13:30 using an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) for
up to a maximum of 18 months in CA-G “Area A” (shown in
appendix 2) to cover waiting restrictions (including single yellow
lines) not covered by the above recommendation (and not previously
introduced as a trial under the current
scheme);
iii)
The introduction of Saturday parking controls, as a trial,
between 08:30 – 13:30 using an Experimental Traffic Order
(ETO) for up to a maximum of 18 months in CA-G “Area B”
(shown in appendix 2), bounded by Eversholt Street,
Camden Street, Royal College Street, Rochester Road, Camden Road,
St Pancras Way, Grand Union Canal, Goods Way, York Way
and Euston Road; and
iv)
To delegate authority to the Director of Environment and
Sustainability, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for a
Sustainable Camden, to consider any objections received, feedback
and monitoring data during the above new Experimental Traffic
Management Order (ETO) periods in CA-G and, alongside consideration
of relevant policies, make any further decision, on whether those
new trial scheme elements outlined in (ii) and (iii) above should
be made permanent, amended or removed at the expiration of their
18-month ETO trial period.
