Purpose

This report seeks approval under the delegation of the
Climate Action Plan Cabinet report (SC/2020/03), to adopt the
Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP) for
2023-2025.

The CARP focuses on the council's strategy to address the
challenges and risks brought by climate change, particularly severe
weather events that have recently impacted Camden, such as flash
flooding and heatwaves. The plan identifies specific climate risks
in Camden, proposes 14 outcomes to mitigate these risks, and
emphasises collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure
effective implementation. The report highlights the importance of
adopting the plan, detailing the benefits of improved climate
readiness and resilience, while also highlighting funding sources,
legal requirements, and environmental implications.
