Purpose

To consider and make a decision on officer recommendations
following a public consultation on the options for the hours of
control of CA-L Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and healthy street
improvements in the CPZ.

PARKING AND HEALTHY
STREETS CONSULTATION: CA-L, KENTISH TOWN (WEST) CONTROLLED PARKING
ZONE (CPZ) (SC/2023/31)
 
Consideration was given to a report of
the Director of Environment and
Sustainability.
 
DECISION –
 
That having considered the results of
the consultation set out in Section 5 of the report and
Consultation Report (Appendix 7), the Equality Impact Assessment
(Appendix 6) and having due regard to the needs set out in section
149 of the Equality Act 2010, and subject to compliance with all
further statutory requirements, the Cabinet Member for a
Sustainable Camden approves the following:
 

i)          
To increase the weekday hours of control in CA-L: Inner from 08:30
–18:30 on a permanent basis.
 

ii)         
To retain the current hours of control of CA-L: Outer of 8:30
-18:30, Monday to Friday.
 

iii)        
To retain the current weekday hours of control of 08:30 -18:30 and
09.30 – 17.30 on weekends in CA-L: St Leonard’s Square
sub-zone.
 

iv)       
To replace CA-L: Inner and CA-L: Outer subzones with a new subzone
named ‘CA-L’ as recommendations (i) and
(ii) result in them having the same hours of control.
 

v)         
To delegate authority to the Director of Environment and
Sustainability to consider any responses received to the Traffic
Management Order (TMO) consultation on extending the hours of
control in CA-L: Inner and make any further decision, as required,
on whether this should be implemented or not.
 

vi)       
For the relevant officers to consider as part of their workload for
2023/24 financial year (subject to funding and other resource
availability) the requests for bicycle hangars and electric vehicle
charge points in this area identified as part of the consultation
responses.
