Purpose
This report seeks approval to procure
an organisation to provide additional capacity to undertake initial
Care Act assessments and reviews in Adult Social Care’s
Support and Safeguarding Service in line with current service
needs. This is in response to current service challenges around
capacity and recruitment.
Officers have engaged with three (3)
different suppliers who provide services to support Local
Authorities with the backlog of Reviews and Assessments, and the
intention is to undertake a quotation process with these
organisations. It is envisaged that a contract will run for
approximately six (6) months starting on or around 1st September
2023, at an approximate cost of £150,000.
The service operates in line with the
key objectives of Council and Directorate strategies and plans,
which include:
·
Adult Social Care’s Supporting People, Connecting Communities
strategy, which outlines how we will work with people to focus on
what matters to them, and take a neighbourhood approach with early
help offered at the right time.
·
Camden’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which sets out how we
will support people to live and age well.
·
We Make Camden which sets out a long-term ambition for the Council
and strategic direction to make Camden a better borough; a place
where everyone has a chance to succeed and where nobody gets left
behind.
