Purpose

To consider the continuation of grant funding for the
Hopscotch Family Advocacy Programme to provide transition and
integration support for Afghan Refugees, up to a maximum amount of
£200,000/year until March 2026.
 

Content

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of
Equalities & Community Strength.
 
DECISION –
 
THAT the Leader of the Council:
 
i)              
Agrees the continuation of grant funding for the Hopscotch Family
Advocacy Programme until 31 March 2026, with a funding allocation
of £50,000 per quarter (up to a maximum amount of
£200,000 per year) for a maximum total of £600,000 for
the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2026 for the purposes set out
in Sections 2 and 3 of the report; and
 
ii)             
Authorises the Director of Equalities & Community Strength to
take all administrative actions required to implement the programme
including reviewing and adjusting funding levels after March 2024,
as described in Sections 2 and 3 of the report.
