Purpose

This report outlines the
proposals to:
 

·      
Process a Stopping Up Order under s247 of the
Town Country Planning Act 1990 to change a section of Pond Square
(which links Pond Square with Highgate High Street) from
carriageway to footway with no vehicle access.

·      
To pave and improve drainage levels.
 
 
 

Content

THAT the Director of Environment and Sustainability,
subject to compliance with relevant statutory requirements and
detailed design, approves the following for the link between Pond
Square and Highgate High Street:
 

Advertising the draft stopping up order for
public consultation.
Processing the stopping up order
should no objections be received, or all objections be
withdrawn.
Agrees that if objections are
received, which are not withdrawn, the Mayor of London should be
notified so a decision on whether to hold a public inquiry can be
made, as required by legislation.
Agrees that if a public inquiry
is required by the Mayor of London it can be arranged and
undertaken.
Agrees that if the Mayor of
London allows for the order to be made without a public inquiry,
the order can be made.

Conversion of the existing road space to a footway and
improving drainage.
