Purpose

This report sets out the results of a procurement exercise for
the appointment of a contractor to undertake detailed design and
pre-construction works for the redevelopment of Temporary
Accommodation hostels at 2 Chester Road and 248-250 Camden Road
(Stage 1), leading to an award of main works contracts for
construction of the hostels (Stage 2) should final contract terms
be agreed. This report replaces the previous approved NKED report
dated 22 November 2022.
 
 

Content

THAT the Executive Director Supporting Communities (in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for New Homes, Jobs and
Community Investment, the Cabinet Member for Better Homes and the
Cabinet Member for Finance and Cost of Living, the Director of
Finance and the Borough Solicitor) agrees:
1.       That Morgan
Sindall Construction Ltd be appointed to undertake pre-
construction services relating to the Chester Rd and Camden Rd
Hostels under Pre-Construction Services Agreements with an
estimated combined contract value of £1,268,438 (which
includes a contingency for unforeseen requirements).
2.       Note the
estimated contract sums for main works packages for construction of
the two hostels, outlined in Part 2 of this report.
