Purpose

This report seeks approval for Camden
to grant an easement to Cadent Gas Ltd to carry out the diversion
of the existing gas main pipe in Richbell House,
Tybalds Estate. The diversion will enable the Phase 1
construction works to progress according to the approved
scheme.
 
Phase 1 of the Tybalds
Estate regeneration involves converting the existing
ground floor under-croft area of three
buildings (of which Richbell House is one) into 10
social housing units. The main contractor Quinn (London) Ltd
commenced works on site on 13 March 2023.
 
The existing gas main pipe currently
runs through the under-croft area inside
Richbell. Cadent have put
forward a proposal to divert the pipe from inside to
outside of the building. Once the
diversion is completed, the existing gas pipe
would be decommissioned and removed to
enable Quinn to complete the internal fit-out of the under-croft
area.
