Purpose

This report seeks approval for an amended award of contract for
the Brill Place tower landscape works within Purchase Street Open
Space, to Maylim Limited. The project sits with the Central Somers
Town masterplan that is being delivered through the Community
Investment Programme.
 
This project delivers a specific element of the Central Somers
Town masterplan works, fulfilling both a planning obligation and a
development agreement into which the council has entered with the
Brill Place tower developer.
 
The original contract award report (“the original contract
award”) was approved by the Director of Recreation on 31st
March 2023. The report on which they based their decision is
appended at Appendix 2.
 
Since then, the original awarded tenderer, Idverde Limited, have
informed the Council that they will withdraw their tender, and not
proceed to execute the contract.
 
Therefore, this report seeks authority to
 
(a)      Award the
contract to Maylim Limited
(b)      Cease to proceed
with the contract award as set out in the original contract award
report.
 
This report is being presented to the Director of Recreation in
line with Contract Standing Orders.

THAT the Director of Recreation agrees:
1.       the award of
the contract to Maylim Limited for the sum of £1,517,572.78,
to commence on 30th May 2023 for a period of 6 months.
2.       To cease to
proceed with the contract award as set out in the original contract
award report.
