Purpose
This report seeks approval of the appropriation for planning
purposes of land held under housing powers in order to facilitate
the redevelopment of Phase 3 of the development of land at the
junction of Abbey Road and Belsize Road as part of the community
investment programme.
Content
THAT the Executive Director, Supporting Communities in
consultation with the Executive Director of Corporate Services,
Head of Property, Borough Solicitor and Cabinet Member for New
Homes, Jobs and Community Investment and Cabinet Member for Better
Homes:
1.
approve the appropriation of the land and buildings as shown edged
red on the plan at Appendix A which is no longer required for the
purpose for which it is held from housing purposes to planning
purposes under s122 of the Local Government Act 1972 to facilitate
the redevelopment of the land in accordance with planning
permission, such appropriation to take effect following
demolition.
2.
pursuant to s. 232 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, and
immediately following the appropriations set out in recommendation
1, approve the subsequent appropriation of the same land scheduled
at Appendix A to housing powers for the purposes of the delivery of
the redevelopment pursuant to ss.9 & 19 of the Housing Act
1985.
