Purpose

This report seeks approval for a grant award to Chosen Chare Group, for the refurbishment of a bespoke, specialist home for a resident with care and support needs. This home has been sourced by Chosen Care Group, the selected provider to meet the resident’s needs after a significant period of detention in hospital under the Mental Health Act.

The accommodation forms part of a specialist care package arranged for the resident. Chosen Care Group, Camden Council and NHS West and North London Integrated Care Board are contributing to the costs of the refurbishment of the property. The Council, as per its agreements with the Integrated Care Board, are acting as the lead commissioner of the resident’s care placement and will be reimbursed by the NHS for 50% of the public sector contribution.

The report is coming to the Executive Director Adults and Health, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care, in line with paragraph 14 of the Council’s Constitution, for the award of grants.

Decision

THAT, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care, the award of the grant of £83,598 to Chosen Care Group for alterations to provide specialist accommodation be approved.
