Purpose

This report sets out the decision on the removal of a tree subject to section 115 of Environment Act 2021, which requires the Council to consult the public on the removal of a healthy street tree.

The report seeks approval for removing the ash tree on the street outside of 22 Marsden Street which has been implicated in causing subsidence. There was 1 comment received during the 28-day consultation: 0 number of comments for and 1 against. Failure to remove the tree will result in litigation against the council.

This report is coming to the Head of Leisure because they have delegated authority to take the decision from the Cabinet.

Decision

THAT the Interim Head of Leisure approves the removal of the tree located on the street outside 22 Marsden Street.
