Purpose

This report sets out the proposal and reasons to renew a partnership agreement between Camden Council and the Metropolitan Police. This would require an investment of £65,000.00 to secure regular joint shifts can take place between the police and Camden’s commissioned outreach service throughout 2026-27. This would support the aims of the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025-30 to improve partnership work between police and homelessness services, leading to improved outcomes for residents and communities, including encampment management and reduction.  

This report is coming to the Executive Director Investment, Place and Opportunity because through the scheme of delegation they can authorise, following consultation with the Lead Member for Better Homes and Homelessness Prevention, a grant payment of up to £100,000.00. 

Decision

THAT the Executive Director Investment, Place and Opportunity, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Better Homes and Homelessness Prevention, approves the option stated in paragraph 3.2 below to continue a joint working arrangement with the Metropolitan Police.
