Full council record
Purpose

This report seeks endorsement of the extension to the contract
for specialist support of in-house internal audit, assurance and
related advisory services, for an initial additional period of up
to two (2) years from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2026.

In 2019, Barnet Council led on and jointly commissioned on
behalf of a number of local authorities, the re-procurement of the
Provision of Audit, Assurance, and Advisory Services (also known as
the CCAS Framework), by establishing a framework agreement under
four (4) single provider Lots.

The Framework period initially ran from 01 April 2020 for four
(4) years until 31 March 2024, with the option to extend for a
further two (2) periods of up to one year each (4+1+1). The total
Framework period is six (6) years. The Framework may be accessed by
London councils and other public sector bodies.

The estimated annual value of the extension is £150,000,
with the aggregate value of the six (6) year contract term
including these extensions being £900,000.

The provider (PwC) is delivering a good service across Camden
and this report proposes the permissible extension of the current
contract in order to continue the provision of audit, assurance and
advisory support services to support Camden’s co-sourced
Internal Audit delivery model. The co-sourced Internal Audit model
(comprising of a mix of in-house Internal Audit staff and a
contractor) fulfils the council’s statutory duties and the
achievement of our corporate priorities.
