Purpose

This report requests the Director of Environment &
Sustainability to approve the processing of a stopping up order
(permanent road closure).

THAT the Director of Environment & Sustainability:
I.        Notes
the report and the highway authority’s comments.
II.       Approves
the advertising of the draft stopping up order for public
consultation to stop up all the land shown on the plan in Appendix
1.
III.      Approves the
order to be made and final advertisement should no objections be
received, or all objections being withdrawn.
IV.      Agrees that if
objections are received which are not withdrawn, but the applicant
wish to proceed with the stopping up order, the Mayor of London
should be notified so a decision on whether to hold a public
inquiry can be made, as required by legislation,
V.       Agrees that
if a public inquiry is required by the Mayor of London, it can be
arranged and undertaken.
VI.      Agrees that if
the Mayor of London allows for the order to be made without a
public inquiry, the order can be made.
