Purpose

To delegate authority to settle legal proceedings to the
Executive Director Supporting Communities in consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Better Homes, Borough Solicitor and Executive
Director Corporate Services.

Consideration was given to a report of the Borough
Solicitor.
 
DECISION –
 
THAT the Cabinet Member for Better Homes:
 

   
i)          
Delegates authority to the Executive Director Supporting
Communities, in consultation (to be undertaken as outlined in the
report) with the Cabinet Member for Better Homes, Borough Solicitor
and Executive Director Corporate Services, to take any decision to
settle the legal proceedings referred to in this report, or any
part of them; and
 

  
ii)          
Agrees that, subject to the agreement of the Chair of the
Housing Scrutiny Committee, the above decision will be exempt from
call in for the reasons set out in paragraph 2.3.
