Purpose
This report sets out the procurement
strategy of Architectural consultancy services for the
refurbishment of 2 Prince of Wales Road, NW5 3LQ, in Kentish Town
to become a Neighbourhood Space.
The Architect will take the role of Lead
Design Consultant for the architectural design of the Neighbourhood
Space. They shall lead the design team in the development,
co-ordination of the design, and in the production of information
for procurement and construction. The Architect is the Lead Design
Consultant who will be responsible for leading and communicating
with the Other Consultants and Contractor’s designers for
putting in place measures that will allow the design of the Works
to be coordinated.
This report sets out the proposed
approach to procurement of the Architect from the GLA Architecture
and Urbanism Framework (Lot 5: Civic, Cultural and Social
Infrastructure)

THAT the Director of Economy, Regeneration and
Investment approves:
1.
The procurement strategy as set out in this report, for an
estimated total value of £350,000
2.
For the Architectural consultancy service to be procured
using the GLA’s Architecture and Urbanism Framework 2023,
this is based on a quality/price split of 80:20. This is a
requirement of the GLA Framework, on the basis they have already
carried out a comprehensive evaluation of both financial standing
and quality to get to a short-list of 10 lead
architects.
3.
That the project proceeds to the next stage of the process
following completion of the mini-competition evaluation and
moderation for the appointment of the consultancy
service.
