Purpose
To consider proposals for change to the model of mental health
social work (including proposals for organisational change), which
will be subject to formal consultation with directly impacted
staff.
Content
Consideration was given to a report of the Executive Director
Adults & Health.
DECISION –
Having considered the draft Equality Impact Assessments in
Appendix A and B, and having due regard to the needs set out in
section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (public sector equality duty)
it is recommended that the Cabinet Member:
i)
Agrees that the Council’s Adults and Health Directorate
should work towards this proposed next step in our integrated
working arrangements in mental health services; and
ii)
Delegates authority to the Executive Director, Adults & Health
in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and
Adult Social Care to make all changes necessary and take all steps
necessary to deliver the proposed changes set out in this report.
Noting, in particular, that they will begin formal
consultations with impacted staff and in due course and (subject to
those consultations and consideration of all equality impacts)
agree a day from which the new model and arrangements will take
effect.
