Purpose
There are 5 phases of
work for the Swiss Cottage Open Space improvement project. This
report is for the procurement of a Landscape Contractor to deliver
Phase 1 only. Phase 1 is a series of construction works involving
soft and hard landscaping, installation of play equipment,
Sustainable Urban Drainage features and street
furniture.
The Council’s
quantity surveyor has estimated Phase 1 to cost approximately
£781,000 and there is sufficient funding available to meet
this estimate.
It is also the
intention of Procurement to publish the Phase 1 budget constraints
to encourage suppliers to submit bid responses in line with
this.
In summary, this
report sets out the approach to commissioning a Landscape
Contractor to carry out landscape improvements to the Swiss Cottage
Open Space. We will go out to market for the delivery of Phase 1
only.
The contract is
expected to be awarded in August 2024, with works expected to
commence from September 2024.
The report is being
submitted to the Director of Recreation in line with Contract
Standing Orders which state that a Chief Officer must agree
procurement strategies for contracts with a value £500,000 to
£2 million (CSO C3.5).
