Purpose

This report summarises the statutory, Traffic Management Order
(TMO) consultation undertaken between 20 June 2024 and 12 July 2024
on proposals to implement permanent Healthy Streets changes in the
Crowndale Road area, outlines the objections received during the
consultation and makes a recommendation for the decision
maker’s consideration.
 
The scheme seeks to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians
using the area, and to expand the borough-wide cycling network.
Following a public consultation, a Cabinet Member Decision was
made, by the Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden, on 4 December
2023 to approve implementation of the changes proposed in the
Crowndale Road area. This decision was subject to compliance with
relevant statutory requirements, including carrying out the TMO
consultation that took place in June/ July 2024.

THAT the Director of Environment and Sustainability, having
considered the proposals in relation to the objectives set out in
the Camden Transport Strategy, all TMO consultation responses
received and having due regard to the needs set out in section 149
of the Equality Act 2010, approves:
 

1)            
the making of the TMO for the Crowndale Road Area Safe and Healthy
Streets scheme, as per the TMO consultation undertaken between 20
June 2024 and 12 July 2024,

2)            
an additional, separate TMO consultation to be 
undertaken to convert two paid for parking bays on Oakley Square
(north) to shared paid for parking and residents bays.
