Purpose

To consider creating inclusive neighbourhood spaces by
decommissioning the open plus system at five libraries. Open Plus
technology offers libraries the flexibility to extend access to
library materials and spaces beyond staffed hours and allows staff
to complete their non-frontline duties whilst still allowing the
public to access the library.

report of the Director of Recreation.
 
DECISION

 
THAT having considered the
results of the Equalities Impact Assessment at Appendix A and
having due regard to the needs set out in section 149 of the
Equality Act 2010, the Cabinet Member for Jobs, Young People and
Culture agrees that the obsolete Open Plus equipment is
decommissioned to make libraries inclusive neighbourhood spaces and
to make savings on the annual support fee, costing
£7,957.
