Purpose

To consider a request for a renewal ballot in January 2025 to
seek a new five-year term from Central District Alliance Business
Improvement District, which represents over 400 businesses within
the EC1 and WC1 postcode areas.

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Economy,
Regeneration and Investment.
 
DECISION –
 
The Cabinet Member for Jobs, Young People and Culture is asked
to:
 

     
i)        
Approve the Central District Alliance’s Business Improvement
District proposal for a renewal and alteration ballot for a
five-year term from 2025 - 2030;
 

    
ii)        
To request the Chief Executive, as the Council’s Returning
Officer and ballot holder, to hold a ballot for the Central
District Alliance Business Improvement District renewal and
alteration proposal; and
 

 
iii)        
Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Supporting
Communities, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for
Jobs, Young People and Culture, to enter into the necessary legal
agreements for collection of the BID Levy. In addition, to deal
with related service specifications for all other connected
services which the Council is required to deliver throughout the
BID’s term and any other necessary legal matters
in respect of the Central District Alliance Business Improvement
District proposal as instructed and in consultation with the
appropriate officers.
