Purpose
This report seeks approval from the Director of
Environment and Sustainability, following consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden to implement
two, permanent Green Mobility Hubs (Werrington Street and Brill
Place) in the Somers Town area. The scheme has been developed to
create some of Camden’s (and the UK’s) first Green
Mobility Hubs within Somers Town, combining a range of shared and
environmentally sustainable mobility options at each location. The
project is part of the wider Somers Town Future Neighbourhoods 2030
programme, funded by the Mayor of London.
Details of the measures proposed at each site are provided
in Section 2. The recommendations in this report are made taking
into account relevant policies, feedback and monitoring data, a
full public consultation for Phase 3 between 8 July 2024 – 4
August 2024 on all proposals contained in this report, and the
relevant Equality Impact Assessment.

THAT the Director of Environment and
Sustainability, having considered the proposals in relation to the
objectives set out in Camden’s Transport Strategy, the public
Consultation Report (Appendix A), the Equality Impact Assessment
(Appendix B), having had due regard to the needs set out in Section
149 of the Equality Act (2010), and following consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden
i)
Approves each of the two individual proposals to permanently
implement Green Mobility Hubs at Werrington Street and Brill Place
(Phase 3), subject to compliance with relevant statutory
requirements ; and
ii)
Delegates authority to the Chief Engineer to take any further
decisions required to deliver each of the two schemes, including
the detailed design and implementation elements and
consideration
