Decision

1. That the Leader of Canterbury City Council, Alan Baldock, should write to Nesil Caliskan MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Devolution, Faith and Communities in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, to produce guidance and support for local authorities seeking to work together with both governmental and non-governmental organisations to make such a sponsorship scheme a success.
2. That as part of the work this City Council is undertaking to achieve “District of Sanctuary” status we will identify and promote specific services as part of the advice, support, and help needed, not only by the Hazara, but by local members of other populations affected by genocidal acts.
