About

The Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee works to improve the life chances of children in the care of Cardiff Council and young people who have left care. Its agenda and priorities are driven by the views and experiences of these young people, focusing on what is relevant for their growth and development. The committee monitors services provided by statutory and voluntary organisations, including Social Services, Health, and Education, ensuring these agencies listen to the needs of children in care. A Corporate Parenting Strategy 2021-2024 outlines commitments to support these young people, with key priorities including emotional well-being, relationships, stable housing, educational achievement, and celebrating their achievements.
