AGREED: that in accordance with Land Matters Report (see Appendix 4) approved at the Cabinet Meeting in March 2024, the site known as the ‘land at Pengam Green’ as edged in red on the plan (Appendix 1) be acquired from the Welsh Government upon the terms (set out in Confidential Appendix 3).

Reasons for the decision

1.     To progress various strategic objectives around economic activity on part of the site, eventual realignment of Rover Way and improvements to the Gypsy Traveller site.

2.     Flood defence work is also planned the area along the sea/river side of Rover Way.

3.     Ownership of the land would facilitate and simplify the delivery of these objectives to the benefit of this area and Cardiff as a whole.
