RESOLVED: that
 

the contents of the
report be noted.

 

It be recommend that Council

 
a)         
Approves the draft proposal for a visitor levy
outlined in Appendix A and to proceed to consult on that
proposal;
b)         
Delegate authority to the Director of Economic
Development, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Investment
& Development, to take all necessary steps required by
legislation to be undertaken by the authority prior to adopting the
levy, including finalising arrangements for the consultation
exercise; and
c)         
To note that following the consultation exercise, a
further report will return to Cabinet and Council in March for
final decision as to whether to proceed to adopt the proposed
levy.
