Purpose

The Director of Social Services is required to produce an annual report on the effectiveness of Social Services.  This report is a statutory requirement on all local authorities in Wales.  The report will need to incorporate evidence from a range of stakeholders and provide relevant performance data.  The report provides an opportunity for an assessment of how well Social Care services are being delivered and those key priority areas for development for the coming year.

Decision

Councillor Emma Reid-Jones declared a personal non-prejudicial interest in item 12. She has a close family member in receipt of Council services.

RESOLVED: that

1)  the Local Authority’s Social Services Annual Report for 2025/26 be approved for consideration by Council.

2)  It be recommended to Council that the recruitment process for the Director of Adult Services, Housing and Communities be commenced, in order to ensure continuity of leadership.
