Purpose
The Welsh Government is considering increasing the maximum charge for non-residential services for Adults.
The maximum charge is currently £100 per week and consultation is underway on three levels - £115 £120, and £125.
This Cabinet report will set out options for an increase in charges for non-residential care, and the date that this increase could apply from, should the Welsh Government decide to increase the maximum charge.
Decision
RESOLVED: that
- Subject to a decision by the Welsh Government to increase the maximum amount for non-residential charges, the new maximum amount be applied as soon as possible after the date of that decision.
- The Council’s Non-Residential Charging policy be amended to:
- Clarify the intention that charges for non-residential care should reflect the cost of that care.
- Confirm that the Welsh Government’s maximum amount should be applied, including any increases in future years.
