About

The Cabinet is the executive arm of Carmarthenshire Council, responsible for the overall business and strategic direction of the authority. It comprises the Leader and nine appointed members, each with specific portfolio responsibilities. The Cabinet makes key policy and budgetary decisions, outlined in its Forward Plan, which guides the council's work over the next 12 months. Its decisions are subject to scrutiny by separate Scrutiny Committees. Residents, businesses, and employees within Carmarthenshire can ask questions of Cabinet members at meetings by submitting them in writing or by email at least seven working days in advance.
