The Environmental & Public Protection Scrutiny Committee examines and scrutinises services related to waste management, environmental protection, and public safety within Carmarthenshire. It reviews areas such as refuse collection, street cleaning, grounds maintenance, public toilets, highways, street lighting, traffic management, parking, and environmental enforcement, including litter and abandoned vehicles. The committee also considers planning enforcement, trading standards, crime and disorder, public health, pest control, social inclusion, biodiversity, and zero-carbon initiatives. It has the power to make reports or recommendations to the County Council and its Executive Board.
