The Emergency General Purpose Committee is responsible for making decisions on behalf of Cherwell District Council during emergencies, when normal council operations are not feasible. This committee can make any decision within the council's power, except for those that are executive functions or specifically reserved for the full council by law. Its membership comprises the Leader of the Council, Deputy Leader, and Leader of the Opposition, with designated substitutes.
