The Executive committee is responsible for making key decisions within the policy and budgetary framework set by Cherwell Council. These decisions are significant if they have a substantial financial impact (over £250,000 in expenditure or savings, or contracts over £500,000) or a significant community impact across two or more wards.
Key decisions are published in the Executive Work Programme at least 28 days in advance. The committee is attended by the Leader and eight Portfolio Holders, with Opposition Group Leaders invited to attend. Decisions that implement approved budgets, policies, or annual service plans, or those with limited discretion, are not considered key decisions.
