The General Licensing Committee is responsible for a range of licensing and registration matters within Cherwell. This includes setting policies for hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, as well as policies related to contaminated land, air quality, health and safety, street trading consents, and street naming. It is important to note that this committee does not handle licensing under the Licensing Act 2003 or the Gambling Act 2005; those functions are managed by the Licensing Acts committee.
