Appointments Committee

The Appointments Committee is responsible for making or recommending senior appointments within Cheshire East Council. It handles the recruitment and selection process for key roles, including the Head of Paid Service, Monitoring Officer, and Chief Finance Officer, making recommendations for council approval. The committee also appoints Statutory Directors for Children's Services, Adult Social Services, and Public Health, as well as Executive Directors for Place, People, and Corporate Services. Additionally, it approves in-year salary or benefit increases for the Head of Paid Service, within the agreed pay policy, and considers appeals against actions short of dismissal for Designated Statutory Officers.
