About
The Licensing Committee is responsible for administering various licences and consents granted by Cheshire East Council. It hears and decides on appeals against officer decisions regarding the granting, renewal, variation, refusal, or revocation of licences. The committee also exercises the Council's functions under specific legislation, including the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 and the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. Some of these duties may be delegated to sub-committees, with the option for the full committee to review significant or controversial matters.
