Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee

The Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee scrutinises the actions and decisions of responsible authorities concerning flood risk management and crime and disorder functions. It monitors and reviews several Cabinet portfolios, including planning, housing, regeneration, environment, waste management, highways, transport, and community services.

This committee's role is to review and scrutinise decisions and actions, offer advice, and make recommendations to the Council or Cabinet. It can also examine the effectiveness of policies and strategies, consult with the community, and review the Council's performance management. The committee has the power to request reconsideration of decisions not yet implemented and to scrutinise outcomes after implementation.
