Purpose

The Economy and Growth Committee at its
meeting on 9 September 2025 considered a report on the Garden
Village Handforth Delivery Strategy and resolved to
 
1 iv     approve to commission Ringway
Jacobs Ltd via the Council’s Highways Service Contract to
provide project management, commercial support, technical approval
and site supervision inputs into the construction, detailed design,
and rescoped preliminary design.
 
2.      Delegate authority to the
Executive Director of Place to take all actions necessary to
implement the actions approved by this Committee in consultation
with the Executive Director of Resources and the Director of
Governance and Compliance and the Chair and Vice Chair of the
Economy and Growth Committee.

Content

To appoint project management and commercial
support to manage the delivery of the Initial preparation and
infrastructure (IPIW) works for Garden Village including detailed
design of A34 corridor works and the mobilisation of an early phase
of construction.
 
The approximate cost of this commission will
be £160,000. This will be funded by Homes England HIF grant
and will cover a period of 6 months.
