Purpose

To Commission work to the value
of £254,000 to do advance works in preparation for the award
of the MEB construction contract.
 
These works will be done by
bringing this work into Stage 1 of the Scape Contract – being
already within the scope of the Stage 2 element.
 
These works are to be
undertaken in advance of letting of the MEB contract anticipated in
January 2026.
 
The works include:
 
• Statutory Undertakers
Works at Pochin Way, Cledford Lane and Booth Lane.
• Construction of a new
pond on CEC land
• Closure of existing pond
on Kettley Land
• Removal of trees, hedge
and previously removed vegetation that has grown back
• Installation of
kingfisher tunnels and removal of nesting sites
• Little ringed plover
bird mitigation measures
 • Early order of design of precast culvert
units for the River Croco and Sandersons Brook
