*RESOLVED –
 
That it be recommended to Full Council:
 

1.  
That the Chief Executive be authorised, in consultation with the
Leader of the Council, to participate in discussions with
authorities across Derbyshire and Derby City Council, regarding any
local government reorganisation proposals and be asked to present
update reports to Cabinet and Full Council as
appropriate.

2.  
That a budget of £50,000 be allocated from the
budget risk reserve to support the development of
proposals.
 
REASONS FOR
DECISIONS
 

1.  
To ensure that Cabinet and Full Council are aware of
the publication of the Government’s English Devolution White
Paper and the emerging implications for Chesterfield Borough
Council and local communities.
 

2.  
To ensure that Chesterfield Borough Council can
participate fully in the shaping of any local government
reorganisation proposals impacting the borough and continue to act
in the best interests of the residents and businesses of the
borough.
