Decision

*RESOLVED –

1. That funding from the Chesterfield Town Board, as part of the Pride in Place programme, be approved, to deliver environmental and physical improvements to the Shambles area of Chesterfield town centre, including improvements to privately owned buildings.
2. That authority be delegated to the Director for Economic Growth, in consultation with the Director of Finance, to agree and sign the Chesterfield Pride in Place Grant Agreement.
3. That authority be delegated to the Director for Economic Growth, in consultation with the Director of Finance, to agree the final terms and conditions for the Shambles Building Improvement Grant.
4. That the inclusion of £709,716 of Pride in Place funding to the Shambles scheme within the Council's Capital Programme be approved.

REASONS FOR DECISIONS

1. To support the Council’s ambition for growth set out in the Chesterfield Growth Strategy 2026 to 2030 to ‘strengthen the distinctive character and vibrancy of our town centres’.
2. The delegation to agree the final terms and conditions for the Shambles Building Improvement Grant is requested to allow further active dialogue with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery.
