The Assessment Sub-Committee considers written complaints alleging that a member of Chichester District Council or a local parish council has breached the members' code of conduct. It meets when convened by the Monitoring Officer to assess these allegations.
The committee decides whether to refer the complaint for investigation, arrange training or conciliation for the member, take no action, or refer the matter to another authority if the member has moved. An Independent Person and, in certain cases, a parish councillor attend in an advisory capacity.
