Investigation and Disciplinary Committee

The Investigation and Disciplinary Committee considers allegations concerning the conduct or capability of senior council officers, specifically the Chief Executive, Chief Finance Officer, and Monitoring Officer. It takes action according to the council's disciplinary procedures for these roles. This can include negotiating settlement agreements and, for the Chief Executive, suspension or disciplinary action short of dismissal. The committee comprises five politically balanced council members, including at least one cabinet member, and reports directly to the full Council.
