About
The Standards Committee advises Chichester District Council on maintaining high standards of conduct for its members and co-opted members, as required by the Localism Act 2011. It also provides advice to parish councils within the district on their conduct obligations.
The committee reviews and recommends changes to the council's code of conduct. It handles investigations and decisions on allegations of code of conduct breaches by district or parish councillors, taking into account the views of an Independent Person. The committee also advises on training for councillors regarding conduct and the disclosure of interests.
