Purpose
Chichester Business Improvement District (BID) is nearing the end of its five-year term and wishes to seek renewal for a further term of five years. This report will set out the background to the BID, the renewal process and the financial implications, and seeks approval from Members for the ballot process to be undertaken. Cabinet will be requested that the Council be recommended to delegate to the Leader the authority to vote in accordance with Cabinet’s decision in relation to the ballot to renew the BID.

Resolved:
- 2 Cabinet notes the ‘Renewal Business Proposal’ prepared by Chichester Business Improvement District (BID) and supports the renewal of the BID for a further term of five years.
- 3 Subject to 1.2 Cabinet recommends to Council to approve authority for the Leader to represent the council to vote to support the BID in the BID ballot.
- 4 Cabinet approves that the ballot holder, the Divisional Manager for Business Support, as the council’s Returning Officer, be instructed to hold the BID ballot.
- 5 Subject to 1.2 Cabinet approves the additional budget requirement, of £10,000 to cover Chichester District Council’s increased BID levy payment, from 2027/28 onwards.
