Purpose

To consider an item for additional resourcing within the Planning Policy Team following the decision by Council to start work on a new Chichester Local Plan under the new plan making system.

Decision

RESOLVED:

1. 3 That Cabinet:

a) Approves the creation of one additional permanent Senior Planning Officer post within the Planning Policy Team, funded from the General Fund Reserve in 2026/27 at an estimated cost of £35,830 (part-year, 7 months) and added to the base staffing budget from 2027/28 at an estimated full year cost of £61,423 inclusive of on-costs;

b) Approves release of £67,340 from reserves towards temporary agency planning resource for six months.
