Reasons for recommendation
Local authorities are required
to maintain a List of Assets of Community Value pursuant to Part 5
of the Localism Act 2011 (the Act).

Under S88 of the Act an asset
of community value means buildings or land where, in the opinion of
the authority, the current use or use in the recent past furthers
the social wellbeing or social interests of the local community,
and it is realistic to think that there can continue to be use of
the buildings or land which will further the social wellbeing or
social interests of the local community within the next five
years.

The Property is located within
the Council’s boundary.

The nominating party is the
Parish Council, a qualifying community body within Regulation 5(1)
of the Assets of Community Value (England) Regulations 2012 (The
Regulations)

 The
Property is not within the categories excluded from listing within
the Regulations.

It is reasonable to conclude
that the evidence submitted sufficiently demonstrates that the site
is used or has recently been used in a manner which furthers the
social well-being or social interests of the local community, and
it is realistic to think it could continue to do so within the next
five years.

Other
options considered and rejected
Not to add the Property to the
Council’s List of Assets of Community Value.
