Reasons for recommendation
Cakes by Hannah Jones is an
independent Bakery located on Market Street in Adlington. The
owner, has been trading since 2022 and offers a full menu of
takeaway counter treats, drinks and gifts as well as a bespoke cake
service for all beautifully designed cakes and treats for all
occasions.

They are applying for the
Retail & Hospitality Grant which is on offer for a limited
period to a specific number of businesses. The grant money will go
towards the upgrading of their current website and purchasing of an
iPad to use primarily as a Point-of-Sale Service and to let
customers design their own cakes

This grant is only available
for a limited period to a specific number of businesses in this
sector. To award Grant funding to a Business which is located
outside the Town Centre will benefit both the Business and Council
as a whole.

Other
options considered and rejected
The alternative option is not
to pay the Grant. Without this Grant they would likely defer the
investment in technology, which would hold back the growth
potential of the Business. The knock-on effect of this is that the
opportunity to drive more footfall into the area would be delayed
and the plan to recruit more staff would also take
longer.
