Reasons for recommendations
To ensure the project can be
delivered within the programmed timeframe.

To ensure the site is
developed, fit for purpose and able to accommodate the transfer of
depot services and personnel from the current site at Bengal Street
Depot.

To support the land release of
the existing depot site at Bengal Street for future residential
scheme as part of the wider Town Centre Improvement
Project.

To mitigate any risk to grant
funding secured through both the Brownfield Land Release Fund and
Levelling Up Fund.
 
Other
options considered and rejected
To not appoint the contractor
and employers’ agent/quantity surveyor consultant on
project.  This has been rejected as this
would not allow for the objectives to be achieved.
